Recreate a Pinterest photo with the pin on your camera

Save the pin to your iPhone, then open it in LikeThis. The pin shows as a see-through ghost over the live camera. Match the background first, then the pose, and take the shot. You can slide between the pin and your photo to check the match.

App screen: a saved photo as a ghost over the camera

How to get a pin into LikeThis

  1. In the Pinterest app, open the pin and save the image to your photos. If you cannot, take a screenshot.
  2. Crop the screenshot to the photo only, so the ghost has no app buttons on it.
  3. Open LikeThis and pick the image.

Pins that are easy to recreate

  • One or two people with a clear background: a beach, a street, a wall.
  • Photos taken with a phone, not with a long lens far away.
  • Places you can get to: the café near you, the park, a landmark on your trip.

Pins that are hard to recreate

  • Studio photos with special light. LikeThis matches the framing, angle, height and distance, not the light.
  • Photos taken with a drone or from a place you cannot stand.
